Gardens Galore! (September 10)

Learn how to play 19th-c. games in the McCook’s garden and create your very own, framed water color painting of the McCook’s flowers and plants!

The Antiquarian & Landmarks Society proudly continues its Drop-In Saturday Kids Program. Children (ages 4-14) and their parents/ adult friends are encouraged to participate. Taking place under a new, expanded hours format in 2005, each program features take-home history and art activities. Families may drop by anytime between 10:30-3:30. Staff will be on hand to provide assistance. Program is free and open to the public. For more information, call (860) 522-1806.

Homeschool Open House! Another gathering time for families!
The Swan family has opened their house and pool to our group on Wednesday September 14, 2005 at noon.
Please bring a lunch and chairs or blanket for your family, and a snack to share.
Bad weather cancels!

Come and enjoy the company of other Shoreline
Homeschooles as we kick off our 2005-2006 season! We
will meet at Chatfield Hollow State Park on Wednesday,
September 7 around noon. Bring a picnic lunch for you
and your family and a snack to share with everyone
else. We'll meet at the park's beach, so bring your
swimming stuff!

During the picnic there will be an opportunity to
become a 2005-2006 Shoreline Homeschooler group member and join
in on the planning for the coming year.

Choirs from Finland

The Yale Glee Club hosts two visiting choirs from Finland, in concert on Tuesday August 30th at 7:30 pm at the Battell Chapel, corner of College and Elm streets, in New Haven.

Admission is by Free Will offering. Open to the public.

The participating choirs are Florakören, the academic female choir and Brahe Djäknar is the academic male choir. Both choirs are fromn Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland, under the directoion of Ulf Långbacka.

One-man drama featuring veteran stage and screen actor Norman Thomas Marshall. Written by Mr. Marshall and Director George Wolf Reily.
Mr. Marshall portrays the legendary Abolitionist and 30 other Civil War period characters.
